Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we get most — about the site itself, and about planning a trip to Lisbon.
About the site
- How many pages does Awesome Lisbon have?
- Around 29 at launch, across seven departments. See our News & Updates page for the latest count and what's been added most recently.
- How often is the site updated?
- At least once a week, usually two or three times. Places and Things to Do tend to grow fastest.
- Do you accept paid placements or sponsored reviews?
- No. See our About Us page for more on how the site is written and funded.
- I found an error — how do I report it?
- Use the contact page. We fact-check on publish, but Lisbon changes, and we'd rather fix a mistake fast than leave it live.
- Can I suggest a guide you haven't written yet?
- Yes — the contact page is the right place for that too. Neighbourhood and day-trip requests are especially useful for prioritising what we build next.
About visiting Lisbon
- Is Lisbon expensive to visit?
- It remains one of the more affordable capitals in Western Europe, though prices in the historic centre have risen noticeably in recent years. See our first-timer's guide for a rough daily budget.
- How many days should I spend in Lisbon?
- Three full days covers the essentials; four or five lets you add a day trip without feeling rushed. Full breakdown in our first time in Lisbon guide.
- What's the best time of year to visit?
- Late April to early June, or September to mid-October, for the best balance of weather, crowds and price. See our best time to visit guide for the full month-by-month breakdown.
